Golden Girls, Silver Sisters

This project, inspired by my mother's experience of empty nesting, captures the often-overlooked crone phase of womanhood—marked by menopause, grandmotherhood, and retirement. Through photography, I explore the lives of aging women in Bournemouth who form communities to combat loneliness and find camaraderie. These images reveal the beauty, resilience, and solidarity within these groups, celebrating the strength and wisdom of women in their later stages of life. I created a photo book aims to inspire others to recognize and honor the rich contributions of aging women to society.
