The Southern Disparity

This project examines the divide in U.S. society over LGBTQ+ rights, focusing on Tennessee's restrictive laws and their impact. Inspired by Grant Wood's American Gothic, it critiques rural America's resistance to progress. Highlighting events in Murfreesboro, where efforts to ban a pride festival were overturned, the project features interviews with two affected individuals, shedding light on the ongoing struggle for equality in a modernizing world.
